Job Description

The Engagement Coordinator supports the Senior Leadership Team in improving colleague engagement and retention across the business. This role is responsible for delivering a positive onboarding experience and ensuring colleagues feel supported and engaged throughout their employment, helping position Culina as an employer of choice.

Salary: £20,593.20

Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00-16:30 (3 days in the office, flexible across Monday-Friday)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage colleague engagement across the full employee lifecycle for Warehouse, Transport, Stock and Administration
  • Support recruitment by pre-screening candidates, contacting applicants, and arranging interviews through Smarts
  • Lead the new starter process including pre-start calls, induction support, first shift check-ins, and ongoing reviews up to and after probation
  • Ensure all onboarding systems (DocuSign, OneHR) are completed and colleagues have access to benefits platforms
  • Gather feedback from colleagues and recommend improvements to onboarding and overall experience
  • Develop and support engagement activities, internal communications, and site initiatives (e.g. newsletters, events, colleague recognition)
  • Work with HR and managers to coordinate training and development opportunities
  • Support engagement surveys and encourage participation
  • Conduct exit interviews, track trends, and share insights with leadership
  • Monitor key metrics such as turnover, vacancies, and engagement levels
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues and escalate any concerns appropriately

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with people at all levels
  • Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Results-driven with good problem-solving ability
  • Adaptable and supportive of change
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge of logistics/supply chain (preferred)
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
