About the Role
Main Street AI Advisors is hiring a full-time AI Engineer to design, build, and deliver practical AI solutions for small and midsize businesses across the United States.
This is a client-facing, delivery-focused role where you'll own the entire implementation lifecycle for a portfolio of customers. You'll lead client meetings, manage project timelines, build AI-powered automations, deploy production-ready solutions, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within scope.
We're looking for an engineer who combines strong technical skills with excellent communication and project ownership. Success in this role comes from shipping reliable solutions, managing client expectations, and solving business problems with practical AI instead of unnecessary complexity.
This is a fully remote position open to professionals across Latin America who can maintain regular overlap with US Pacific Time.
Key Responsibilities
Client Success & Communication
Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned client accounts.
Lead weekly client meetings, establish priorities, document decisions, and communicate next steps.
Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders through proactive, transparent communication.
Identify project risks early and communicate solutions before issues escalate.
Collaborate with company leadership during client onboarding, strategic planning, and key project milestones.
Project Ownership
Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
Deliver projects on time while staying within agreed scope and allocated hours.
Identify out-of-scope requests and coordinate expansion opportunities with leadership.
Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines, task status, and time tracking.
Prioritize practical, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.
Technical Delivery
Design, build, test, and deploy AI agents and workflow automations.
Develop integrations between AI systems and client applications using APIs.
Build automation workflows using platforms such as Make.com, n8n, Zapier, Lindy.ai, or similar tools.
Write JavaScript and Python to support integrations, business logic, and custom workflows.
Configure and manage cloud infrastructure required for client deployments.
Perform end-to-end testing, debugging, monitoring, and error handling.
Produce technical documentation for internal teams and user-friendly documentation for clients.
Estimate ongoing infrastructure, API, cloud, and AI model costs for client solutions.
Select appropriate AI models and architectures with cost, performance, and reliability in mind.
Research client technology stacks and integration capabilities before implementation.
Support internal automation and AI initiatives as bandwidth allows.
Requirements
3+ years of experience delivering software, automation, AI, or integration projects.
Demonstrated experience owning projects from discovery through deployment.
Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills (C1 or C2).
Advanced JavaScript and JSON experience.
Working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.
Experience building REST API integrations, authentication flows, OAuth, and webhooks.
Hands-on experience integrating LLMs such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, or similar models.
Experience with automation platforms including Make.com, n8n, Zapier, Lindy.ai, or comparable tools.
Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar).
Excellent project management, organization, and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality client communication.
Availability to overlap several hours with US Pacific Time.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous consulting, agency, or professional services experience.
Experience supporting multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Familiarity with HubSpot, Salesforce, ERP platforms, accounting software, or other SMB technology stacks.
Experience with prompt engineering, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
SQL knowledge.
Experience creating solution architecture diagrams and implementation plans.
AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenAI, or automation platform certifications.
Success in the First 3 to 6 Months
Successfully onboard and independently manage a portfolio of client accounts.
Deliver multiple AI automation projects on time and within scope.
Establish trusted relationships with clients through consistent communication and reliable execution.
Improve internal delivery processes through documentation and technical best practices.
Consistently manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation while maintaining high client satisfaction.
