We are seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help support our mission by ensuring high-quality execution of daily responsibilities, maintaining accuracy, and contributing to a collaborative environment focused on patient care and continuous improvement.
The Basics

Job Type: Regular Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6 AM - 2:30 PM
The Manufacturing Equipment Engineer is embedded within Production that supports day-to-day manufacturing operations while owning first-line maintenance and engineering activities (or more based on experience) for processing equipment. This role is designed to support the launch of a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system by increasing equipment reliability, improving operator ownership, and reducing unplanned downtime in critical production areas.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Equipment Maintenance & TPM Ownership
- Act as the equipment owner for assigned production assets, supporting early TPM pillars such as:
- Autonomous Maintenance
- Planned Maintenance (at the production level or more based on experience)
- Early Equipment Issue Detection
- Identify, document, and escalate equipment issues that require Facilities or Engineering support
- Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment issues and contribute to corrective actions
- Perform first-level and routine maintenance and engineering (or more based on experience) on operations equipment, including:
- Cleaning, inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Changeover support and setup verification
- Act as the equipment owner for assigned production assets, supporting early TPM pillars such as:
- TPM & Continuous Improvement
- Help establish standard work, checklists, and visual controls for equipment care and maintenance
- Partner with Facilities, Engineering, and Quality to:
- Improve preventive maintenance effectiveness
- Reduce downtime and breakdowns
- Increase equipment availability and reliability
- Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives tied to equipment performance and production efficiency
- Production Support
- Operate and support processing equipment in alignment with production schedules, quality standards, SOP’s, batch records and GMP/GDP expectations
- Serve as a production subject-matter expert for assigned equipment, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation
- Partner with Production Leads and Management to troubleshoot minor operational issues and support continuous flow
- Documentation & Compliance
- Complete all documentation e.g., maintenance logs, checklists, equipment/batch records in accordance with GMP/GDP and internal standards
- Develop, adhere and improve SOPs and work instructions related to the equipment and processes you are involved with
- Maintain strong safety practices and ensure equipment is operated and maintained in a compliant manner
- Collaboration & Coverage Model
- Work closely with the Facilities Maintenance team to ensure clear handoffs between:
- Production-owned equipment maintenance
- Building systems and site infrastructure (e.g., HVAC, air handlers, utilities)
- Provide backup support to Production during peak demand while maintaining focus on equipment reliability

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related technical field and advanced degree preferred
- 1–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a regulated environment (internships/co-ops considered)
- Basic understanding of cGMP or regulated industry practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt in a growing environment
- Prior exposure to TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement framework
- Experience partnering with Facilities or Engineering teams
- Ability to read equipment manuals, basic schematics, or maintenance documentation
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
- Ability to travel 15-20% of the time
- Flexibility to work at different times to support the business based on business needs
