DevOps Engineer Cloud Landing Zone (m/f/d)

Job Description

A DevOps Engineer Cloud Landing Zone is responsible for the development and operation of the globally used Secure Cloud Access (SCA) IT service.

Key Responsibilities:

Landing Zone Engineering

• Design, build and maintain a global cloud landing zone for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS), following enterprise architecture, compliance and security standards;
• Develop and enhance automated account/project/subscription provisioning and baseline configurations exclusively using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC);

Automation & Platform Enablement

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for platform components;
• Foster process automation to reduce manual work using GitHub Actions;

Operations & Development

• Operate and enhance the cloud platform with a strong focus on reliability and performance;
• Drive incident resolution and root cause analysis in collaboration with other cross-functional teams;
• Plan, coordinate and implement incoming platform changes for the further platform development;

Collaboration and workstyle

• Work within an agile global team using Scrum or Kanban;
• Collaborate closely with internal and external teams on a global scale, e.g. security, network, governance and public cloud providers;
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Degree (e.g. business informatics, informatics) or comparable qualification;
• Technical knowledge with at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP;
• Competency with scripting languages such as Python;
• Good knowledge of cloud networking (VPC/VNet design, DNS);
• Good expertise about IT infrastructure components;
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Cloud Formation or Terraform), CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling;
• Agile methodologies (SCRUM);
• Experience with AI usage (e.g. GitHub Copilot) highly recommended
• Relevant certifications and/or experience in cloud computing, like: Solutions Architect Associate (AWS), Administrator (Azure), Associate Cloud Engineer (GCP);
• Good team player with the ability to work in cross functional teams;
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Fluent English skills, German skills helpful.
