Job Description
Social Media Strategy & Planning
- Plan social media content in alignment with Store Openings, Tier Campaigns, E-commerce Promos & Daily Always-On Content.
- Build content plans and ideas ahead of campaign launches.
- Apply strong sense of storytelling to maintain Sports Direct’s brand elevation, premium tone and sports-first identity.
- Maintain daily posting calendars across all platforms.
Content Creation & Production
- Shoot and edit trendy TikTok & IG Reels-style videos, including behind-the-scenes and product-focused content.
- Capture on-ground footage during photoshoots, KOL sessions, store visits and activation events.
- Develop static + motion graphic content for campaigns and routine posting.
- Create moodboards & storyboards for content themes and storylines.
- Stay updated with global sporting events (World Cup, tournaments, brand launches) to convert into relevant content.
Analytics, Growth & Reporting
- Monitor and analyse content performance (ER, reach, views, retention, follower growth).
- Present weekly reports to management with insights and growth recommendations.
- Benchmark against competitors & global brand standards.
KOL & Brand Asset Handling
- Identify quality KOL/creator content suitable for brand reposts.
- Ensure selected KOL posts match Sports Direct visual standard and tone.
- Coordinate and gather brand assets for launches, campaigns & new arrivals.
- Maintain organised internal asset library for easy retrieval.
Design & Visual Standards
- Produce graphics for social campaigns, instructional posts and educational visuals.
- Create static templates & story formats to improve consistency and shareability.
General
- Perform additional tasks assigned by management related to social content, events or brand communications.
Qualifications
Candidate must have the following requirements:
- Degree in Marketing, Mass Comm, Multimedia, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in social media/digital content roles.
- Skilled in video shooting & editing for TikTok/Reels format is a must.
- Proficient with editing tools (CapCut / Premiere Pro / DaVinci / Canva / Photoshop).
- Strong understanding of platform algorithms, content optimisation and latest social trends.
- Excellent copywriting in English & Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin advantage).
- Strong organisation skills with ability to manage multiple channels & deadlines.
- Creative, social-savvy, detail-oriented and passionate about sports/retail culture.
- Ability to convert data/insights into execution improvements.
