Job Description
- Administer, monitor and troubleshoot enterprise IP network infrastructure to ensure availability, performance and security
- Manage and maintain routing, switching and wireless network environments, including wired and WiFi access utilizing technologies such as 802.1x/EAP
- Perform both physical and logical network configuration changes, including installation and removal of network devices, cabling and connectivity components
- Configure and support network security mechanisms, including firewalls, traffic filtering and secure communication protocols (SSL/TLS, VPN, authentication systems)
- Ensure stable operation of core network services such as DNS, DHCP and NTP across the infrastructure
- Administer large-scale enterprise network environments and ensure proper configuration of endpoint systems (Windows, Linux, network devices)
- Provide 2nd line support to users and resolve network-related incidents and issues in a timely manner
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Identify, recommend and implement improvements to network performance, scalability and security
- Support hybrid infrastructure environments including on-premises and cloud networking (Azure and AWS)
- Contribute to automation and efficiency through the use of DevOps tools and practices (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Git)
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery
- Promote a proactive, service-oriented approach and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- Excellent practical knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and IP routing
- Very good understanding of Ethernet switching technologies
- Good knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP and NTP
- Understanding of wired and wireless access technologies, including WiFi and 802.1x/EAP
- Knowledge of application-layer authentication and encryption mechanisms (HTTPS, SSL/TLS, PKI, certificates)
- Hands-on experience with networking technologies and vendors (Cisco routers/switches, wireless controllers, firewalls, etc.)
- Experience administering large-scale enterprise network environments
- Good understanding of endpoint network configuration (Windows, Linux and network operating systems)
- Practical experience with stateful and stateless traffic filtering
- Very good analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrates responsibility, initiative and a proactive mindset
- Displays a cooperative, supportive and service-oriented attitude
- Able to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- High level of motivation and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Physically able to perform practical tasks such as installation and cabling of network equipment
- Willingness to travel across Europe when required
- Valid driving license (Category B) and ability to drive abroad
- Good knowledge of cloud networking concepts, particularly in Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD, pipelines, automation)
- Experience or familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible and version control systems (Git)
- Basic scripting skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell, shell scripting)
- Understanding of common data formats such as JSON, YAML and XML
- Good knowledge of English (minimum C1 level)
Additional Information
- This role requires occasional travel within Europe (up to ~15 times/year)
- Driving license (Category B) required
