Role Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Satellite Operator to join our innovative team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the operational success of our satellite missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in satellite systems, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for ensuring the seamless functioning of space technologies.
Possible Shifts
Night Shift: 10pm-6am (4 days on, 2 days off)
Responsibilities
Perform daily monitoring and commanding functions for the ICEYE satellites and supporting TT&C ground network operations
Monitor all ICEYE satellites for proper operation, respond to satellite and network alarms, and coordinate troubleshooting activities
Execute commands and procedures (nominal and anomalous) on all satellites
Assist Engineers in spacecraft anomaly analysis and gather data to create and generate anomaly reports
Perform daily checks on spacecraft performance trends; create reports and aid in initial analysis findings
Create shift logs and aid in shift briefings
Maintain Satellite Operations procedures
Develop and Maintain Satellite Operations tools
Own, Develop, and Support projects and/or inter-team initiatives
Basic Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in STEM (remote sensing, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science) or higher
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong attention to detail
Proficient in written and oral communication
Ability to work a rotating schedule including holidays, weekends, and night shifts
Ability to obtain a clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Satellite Operations
Scripting or Python programming experience
Familiarity with Linux OS and commercial cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure)
Pay Range and Compensation Package
· The estimated base salary range for this role is $70k - $80k depending on experience

Physical Requirements
This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required. May be required to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license and/or effectively navigate public transportation is required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to read and respond to interoffice communications as well as effectively participate in meetings. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to lift up to 50 lbs., pull, push, carry, handle or feel. The employee is required to carry, handle items, reach with arms and hands, to stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. Mental demands may require prolonged concentration, reading comprehension, understanding and interpretation of concepts, ideas and philosophies.
