ABOUT THE TEAM & ROLE

STX is looking for an LCA specialist who can help the company with strengthening its current business and exploring new opportunities. The role includes, but is not limited to, supporting CI modelling and providing clear CI estimations of new projects, performing due diligence activities and calculations, and being up-to-date on the (updated) calculation standards of the different compliance markets (RED, LCFS, CFR etc).

You will be joining a centralized sustainability team in a highly dynamic company, always looking for exciting renewable energy and fuel opportunities to further shape this market. Ideally, your location can be either US (Houston or New York) or Europe (Amsterdam), as you are supporting a wide range of projects which take place across the globe, but we're happy to discuss other (remote) locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial support: Create, run and review LCAs/CI models, engage clients for data collection, and lead due diligence for RNG/biofuel offtakes across compliance markets.
Compliance & audit: Prepare CI calculations for verification and submissions (ISCC, LCFS, CFR, EU RED) and flag risks to ensure timely delivery.
Process ownership: Coordinate across teams, manage core modeling work, and ensure deadlines are met.
Quality & governance: Improve consistency in modeling, validate CI calculations, and act as an additional due diligence layer.
Internal expertise: Serve as the go-to for LCA/GHG topics, communicate insights clearly, and execute lifecycle modeling (e.g., GREET, openLCA).

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Experience: 3–7 years in LCA within renewable energy/biofuels, with hands-on experience in energy product modeling under compliance/incentive schemes.
• Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of EU RED GHG calculations and tools (e.g., GREET, openLCA), plus familiarity with ISCC PLUS/RSB and GHG accounting frameworks.
• Analytical capability: Able to run LCAs independently and translate results into actionable, tradeable insights (incl. counterfactuals like land use change and avoided emissions).
• Ways of working: Self-sufficient, proactive communicator who can operate independently and collaborate effectively.
• Additional strengths (nice-to-have): Experience with CI optimization alongside developers, regulatory awareness, strategic mindset, and access to an expert network for validation.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

STX intends on offering the selected candidate a competitive base salary withing the range of $107.000 USD – $151.000 based on several objective factors such as relevant experience, location, holistic skillset, and applicable licenses and certifications.
