Job Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to include engines, motors, tools, parts (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.), conveyor systems, etc. to ensure optimum performance of machines and associated equipment.

Primary Duties /Responsibilities: 

  • Performs the following duties:
    • Numeracy; take accurate measurements using precision instruments (eg. dial indicator ,micrometer)
    • Blueprint reading; have the ability to work from Prints and schematics
    • Aerial Lift and other elevated work (Fall protection)
    • Hot work
    • Scaffolding 
    • Crane Safety
    • Overhead Crane & Hoist Safety
    • Fall Protection
    • Line Breaking
    • Confined Space
    • LOTO
    • Predictive Maintenance
    • Conduit Fabrication
    • Maintain appropriate records on completed work performed using the CMMS system, communicating all findings to the immediate supervisor.
  • Must have the ability to work autonomously
  • All candidates are subject to a 90 day probationary period.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background: 

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Associate’s degree with an emphasis in Electrical/Mechanical skills preferred
  • 5 (five) years work experience
  • Must have completed schooling for a trade skill with a 3.0 or greater GPA or have a documented trade skill ( or have 1 year or greater, work experience as a Journeyman Instrument/Electrical Technician
  • Must have completed 4160 hours of on the job training, or have documented 5 years or greater in related industrial experience and skill.
  • Must have completed 600 hours of classroom (on-line or face to face) training including listed primary duties or have 1 year work experience as an I/E Journeyman

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

  • Strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
  • 40 hr. OSHA HAZWOPER and complete entry level training (LOTO, Line Breaking, Hotwork)
  • Forklift certification
  • Problem solving; Must have the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and repair various complex pieces of equipment independently.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training: 

  • OSHA HAZWOPER training required

Additional Information

Hourly Pay: $43.50
