At Instructure, we believe in the power of people to grow and succeed throughout their lives. Our goal is to amplify that power by creating intuitive products that simplify learning and personal development, facilitate meaningful relationships, and inspire people to go further in their education and careers.
We do this by giving smart, creative, passionate people opportunities to create awesome. And that's where you come in:

You like digging into data and making sense of it. You're organized, curious, and comfortable moving between analytical work and customer-facing conversations. You don't need a lot of hand-holding to get things done, and you care about doing work that actually holds up.

About the role

This is a temporary associate researcher position supporting the Instructure Research team. You'll work across active research studies, help keep projects moving, and pitch in where the team needs you most. The role is a good fit for someone who's comfortable with ambiguity, works well independently, and wants to contribute to research that has a real impact on education.

What you'll do

  • Review, collect, clean, analyze, and report on data from active research studies

  • Participate in customer calls and contribute to project conversations

  • Develop logic models and conduct literature or survey-based research

  • Support internal projects and other tasks as assigned

What you'll bring

  • At least 2–4 years of experience in K–12 education research or program evaluation

  • A master's or doctoral degree in Evaluation, Statistics, Educational Psychology, Psychology, Learning Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field

  • Experience with Stata or R for quantitative analysis

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences

  • Solid project management and organizational skills

  • Experience with Asana, Jira, Trello, or similar tools

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams

  • A self-starter mindset with a bias toward action

Nice to have

  • Experience with R Markdown for analysis and reporting

  • Familiarity with AERA, APA, and NCME Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (2014)

  • Prior experience working in a software development organization

Get in on all the awesome at Instructure!
