Position Summary

Serves as a Global Operations Benchmarking leader and is accountable for the effective implementation of projects as part of the Global Operations Efficiency Team. This role facilitates improvements, tracks global KPIs, and executes best practices using Statistical Process Control, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Consolidate, document, and manage Global Key Performance Indicators
  • Promote the effective use of information following benchmarking guidelines
  • Implement and monitor the execution of benchmarking projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, and product design
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend improvements to designs, tolerances, or processes
  • Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
  • Collaborate with technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, and other engineers
  • Develop technical methods and processes
  • Implement design and process improvements
  • Analyze operational problems and determine causes of failures
  • Provide technical guidance to team members
  • Recommend design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, and performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Engineering or two (2) years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering concepts within manufacturing/operations
  • Ability to use computer systems and software to program, process data, and manage information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze information from multiple sources
  • Ability to break down complex data to identify root causes and solutions
  • Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, and manage work effectively

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with arms
  • Frequently required to walk
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and communicate verbally
  • Occasionally required to lift or move up to 25 lbs
  • May require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and airborne particles may occur
  • Noise level ranges from moderate to loud
