We’re 50|50 tech and marketing, partner-led, and first to move. Clients include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay, and OpenAI. We have been certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021.

JOB PURPOSE

This role is part of our Experience & Engineering team in Germany. We combine technology and experience design to create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products, and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is digital experiences and communication that change perceptions and shape new behaviours to make a difference in the market.

As the VP of Delivery, Experience & Engineering (E&E), you will be responsible for the overall coordination of all crafts to ensure the successful delivery of projects across DEPT®’s portfolio. This role requires strategic oversight, operational excellence, and the ability to foster strong cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality outcomes efficiently and profitably.

This position requires a deep understanding of agency operations, knowledge of at least one of digital experience and digital engineering delivery, and the ability to lead high-growth, cross-functional teams and bring confidence and expertise to client conversations.

The VP will focus on orchestrating all our experience and engineering service line delivery, ensuring that quality and profitability targets are met and that client outputs are delivered to a high standard. They will also focus on the key processes and interconnections that enable that delivery - delivery processes, project management, resource forecasting, workflow optimisation, risk management, and talent development in the delivery team.

You will act as a key interface between Growth, Client Services, and Delivery, ensuring seamless business onboarding, optimized workflows, and consistent delivery excellence.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Delivery Leadership: Oversee the coordination of all craft teams, ensuring successful project delivery with a focus on quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Operational Excellence: Standardize best practices and optimize workflows to drive operational efficiency, resource utilization, and continuous improvement.
  • Client Onboarding: Collaborate with Growth and Client Services teams to ensure new business is onboarded effectively and RFP responses are robust from a delivery perspective.
  • Escalation Management: Work closely with Client Services to proactively manage project escalations, developing effective de-escalation strategies to maintain client satisfaction. Where escalations are critical, directly assume operational steering of the affected project team to stabilise delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data-driven insights to refine delivery methodologies and enhance performance.
  • Innovation & Scalability: Focus on scaling delivery capabilities, fostering innovation, and implementing best practices to support complex, multi-million-euro enterprise initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the organisational glue between VP of Engineering, VP of Experience, VP of PMO and the VP of Client & Growth, bringing together delivery and commercial perspectives to align on strategic priorities and ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track project delivery quality, team success, client satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Financial Sign-Off & Governance: Serve as the business-responsible approver for all invoices, client contracts, staff employment contracts, and freelance agreements, ensuring financial and legal governance across the region.
  • Weekly Delivery Reporting: Own the preparation and hosting of the weekly delivery meeting with the SVP of Delivery and the Head of Market, aggregating data and insights from multiple internal sources to provide a comprehensive delivery status update.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Maintain active dotted-line relationships with HR Business Partnering, the People Team, Recruitment, and Resource Management, ensuring alignment on people, capacity, and organisational topics.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Proven experience in senior delivery leadership roles within the technology or digital services industry.
  • Strong background in managing cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines (engineering, strategy, design, data, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in optimizing delivery operations, resource management, and workflow efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of client onboarding processes, RFP management, and project lifecycle management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience in scaling delivery functions to support complex, large-scale enterprise projects.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across regions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to align delivery operations with business growth objectives.
  • Authority and experience in signing off invoices, contracts, and legal agreements as business-responsible approver.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex internal stakeholder networks including HR, Recruitment, and Resource Management.
  • Deep understanding of multi-tier margin structures (project margin, gross margin, contribution margin) and non-billable cost management.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • A strategic operator with a hands-on approach to solving complex challenges.
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in cross-functional environments.
  • Passionate about driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Adept at leveraging data to inform decision-making and enhance performance.
  • Committed to fostering a culture of innovation, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Comfortable operating at the intersection of commercial, operational, and people agendas.
  • A natural connector who bridges craft teams and client-facing functions to create coherent delivery outcomes.
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves in a crisis - stepping into project operations when the situation demands it.

WE OFFER:

  • Flexible, hybrid working policy (1-2 days at the office, depending on location);
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Lease bike options / JobRad and 25% subsidy for the Deutschlandticket.
