Consultant General & Laparoscopic Surgeon

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Consultant General & Laparoscopic Surgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in Bahrain. The successful candidate will provide expert surgical care, perform advanced laparoscopic and general surgical procedures, manage complex surgical cases, and contribute to the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and manage a wide range of general surgical conditions.
Perform advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical procedures.
Conduct elective and emergency surgical operations.
Evaluate patients in outpatient clinics and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
Lead multidisciplinary discussions for complex surgical cases.
Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and medical staff.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and operative records.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and departmental meetings.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NHRA regulations, and international healthcare standards.
Participate in on-call and emergency coverage as required.

Requirements

MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Master's Degree / MS /FRCS or equivalent qualification in General Surgery.
Fellowship or specialized training in Laparoscopic Surgery preferred.
Eligibility for or possession of a valid Bahrain NHRA License.
Minimum 6 years of post-specialization experience, including significant experience at Consultant level.
Proven expertise in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
Ability to manage complex surgical cases independently.
