Executive Assistant – Systematic Commodities Hedge Fund

About Moreton Capital Partners

Moreton Capital Partners (MCP) is a CFTC regulated systematic, technology-first investment manager trading across commodities, alternative markets, and emerging data-rich asset classes. We combine quantitative modelling, agentic AI, and deep domain expertise to build strategies with durable, uncorrelated alpha.

The Role

Moreton Capital Partners is looking for a highly organized, resourceful, and tech-savvy operator who thrives in a fast-moving environment. The ideal candidate is not only exceptional at execution and coordination, but also naturally curious about technology, automation, and modern productivity tools.

You should be comfortable learning new software quickly, leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency, and finding ways to automate repetitive processes. As a technology-driven quantitative investment firm, we value people who embrace innovation and continuously look for smarter ways to work.

Success in this role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to anticipate needs before they arise. You should enjoy solving problems independently, managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and operating with a high degree of ownership and discretion.

What you will work on

  • Managing complex calendars, investor calls, and cross-time-zone scheduling
  • Coordinating travel, logistics, and operational support for research and investor trips
  • Organizing investor materials, reporting packs, and data room updates
  • Supporting hiring processes: sourcing, coordinating interviews, and candidate experience
  • Assisting with recruiting pipelines for engineers, quants, and interns
  • Driving internal projects and strategic initiatives across operations, hiring, and infrastructure
  • Preparing documents, presentations, and internal communications
  • Acting as a central hub across leadership, research, and external partners
  • Handling ad-hoc operational tasks that keep the firm running smoothly

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and optimize the CIO’s schedule and priorities
  • Coordinate investor, broker, and partner meetings end-to-end
  • Track recruiting pipelines and help execute hiring plans
  • Liaise with universities, recruiters, and candidates
  • Manage vendors, office operations, and administrative processes
  • Maintain organized documentation, contracts, and internal systems
  • Ensure projects and deadlines stay on track across teams
  • Proactively identify gaps and implement better processes
  • Support broader strategic initiatives as the firm scales

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years experience as an Executive Assistant or Chief of Staff
  • Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) and modern productivity platforms
  • Strong technology aptitude and ability to quickly learn new systems and software
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required)
  • Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly proactive and resourceful mindset
  • Discretion and professionalism with sensitive information
  • Strong proficiency with Google Workspace, Excel, and productivity tools
  • Interest in business operations and scaling teams

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in finance, startups, or investment management
  • Exposure to recruiting or talent acquisition
  • Project or operations management experience
  • Desire to grow into a Chief of Staff or Operations Lead role
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data organization
  • Strong systems-thinking mindset and operational problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who can independently research solutions and implement them effectively

Why this role is unique

  • Direct exposure to fund leadership and investors
  • Broad ownership well beyond a traditional EA remit
  • Mix of operations, recruiting, and strategic work
  • High impact in a small, ambitious team
  • Clear path to expanded responsibility as the firm grows

Benefits

  • Market leading benefits
  • High responsibility from day one
  • Performance bonus tied to firm growth and personal performance (up to 3x salary)
