Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Rail Program Manager to join our CSX and Norfolk Southern Public Projects Teams. Our established teams work alongside CSX and Norfolk Southern to review, manage, and safely deliver third party projects across the eastern United States while maintaining railroad operations. Projects include replacement and rehabilitation of overhead bridges, replacement of undergrade bridges, adjacent vertical construction, at-grade crossing improvements, Section 130 safety projects, utility installations, and a variety of other projects.
 

Typical duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and handle initial project requests from Outside Parties (government agencies, developers, etc).
  • Manage and lead project staff for the daily handling of projects.
  • Work with project staff to develop estimates and agreements.
  • Oversee the review of project plans and specifications for conformance with railroad requirements.
  • Manage field staff oversight of project construction.
  • Review of field reports and coordination with railroad personnel.
  • Oversee the review of construction work plans for conformance with railroad requirements.
  • Coordinate project progress and finances with railroad personnel.
  • Travel to project sites, as necessary.
  • Monitor project budget, scope, and schedule.
  • Coordinate directly with the AECOM CSX and Norfolk Southern Program Managers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 8 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.  As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review. 
  • 5 years’ experience in the Rail industry 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in railroad public projects

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
