Job Description

We're looking for an Infrastructure and Cloud Lead to join our Technology team based in Auckland. This is a pivotal ownership role responsible for the performance, resilience, security and future direction of our Infrastructure and Cloud environment.

You'll be accountable for end to end Infrastructure and Cloud outcomes across TWG, leading through both onshore and offshore delivery models and working closely with a range of managed service and technology partners. While this role does not have direct reports, you will provide leadership, set priorities, influence outcomes and ensure partners consistently deliver high quality services that support the business.

You will play a key role in shaping our technology strategy and ensuring our platforms remain secure, scalable, cost effective and ready to support TWG’s future growth and transformation.

A typical day could include:

  • Owning the strategy, roadmap and operational performance of TWG’s Infrastructure and Cloud platforms
  • Leading Infrastructure and Cloud delivery across partners and offshore teams, ensuring priorities and service outcomes are achieved
  • Acting as the senior escalation point for significant infrastructure incidents and driving continuous improvement activities
  • Providing technical leadership across compute, storage, operating systems, databases, backup, observability and cloud platforms
  • Ensuring our infrastructure environments are healthy, secure and resilient across our network sites and enterprise platforms
  • Driving disaster recovery readiness, business continuity planning and operational resilience initiatives
  • Managing infrastructure and cloud risks, balancing cost, performance, security and business outcomes
  • Owning Infrastructure licensing strategy and governance, ensuring effective control, optimisation, audit readiness and timely renewals to maintain compliance and platform supportability
  • Partnering with Finance and Procurement on forecasting, commercial decisions and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Working closely with Technology and business leaders to translate technical capability into business outcomes and strategic decisions
  • Evaluating emerging technologies and making recommendations that influence TWG’s technology direction
  • Building strong relationships with technology vendors and service partners to ensure service quality and continuous improvement
  • Supporting modernisation initiatives and reducing technical debt through standardised and contemporary platforms

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience leading enterprise scale Infrastructure and Cloud functions with end to end accountability for service outcomes
  • Strong experience operating within managed service and offshore delivery models, with the ability to influence and lead through partners
  • Deep expertise across enterprise infrastructure and cloud technologies, with Azure as the primary platform and exposure to AWS and GCP beneficial
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, governance, resilience and operational excellence
  • Demonstrated experience balancing risk, security, performance and cost to make sound enterprise technology decisions
  • Proven commercial acumen, including managing budgets, vendor relationships and infrastructure investment decisions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior technology and business leaders
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for a broad audience
  • Experience supporting technology transformation and modernisation programmes
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • Experience leading Infrastructure and Cloud functions within large, complex or regulated environments
  • Hands on experience with security technologies such as firewalls, application gateways, identity and access management, PKI, intrusion detection and log management
  • Experience with cloud operating models, automation, Infrastructure as Code and scripting technologies such as Terraform
  • Network infrastructure experience, although this is not essential
  • Relevant industry certifications across Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, security or architecture disciplines
