Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Product Engineer to join our team in George Town, Malaysia. As a Product Engineer, you will play a crucial role in HDD-Media-Head performance characterization.
- You would guide Media Mfg. Engineering team to optimize process to deliver best Media performance at HDD.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product specifications and requirements (PM, Development and Process Engineering teams)
- Optimize existing products for improved yield performance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability
- Support Media performance optimization from development to high volume production
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and manufacturing processes
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Drive digitalization initiatives in manufacturing
- Implementing data-driven decision-making using advanced analytics.
- Utilize AI/ML models for predictive analysis of yield, reliability, and performance trends.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
- Excellent problem-solving and strong analytical skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
PREFERRED:
- Familiarity with industry-specific knowledge (HDD or Media process related experience would be added advantage)
- Update to date on Industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and smart factory trends.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site manufacturing support or meetings
SKILLS
- Data analytics tools (JMP, Minitab, SQL) and exposure to Python/R for data science are an added advantage
