Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Associate Cost Manager to join our growing Real Estate team, delivering high-quality cost management services across a diverse portfolio of developments including commercial, residential, mixed-use, and urban regeneration projects.
You will take responsibility for end-to-end service delivery, often on large or complex property projects, acting as the key day-to-day client interface to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end cost management across real estate development projects
- Act as the primary client contact, ensuring successful project delivery against cost, time, and quality objectives
- Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, procurement, and tender processes
- Oversee post-contract activities including cost reporting, valuations, and change control
- Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting and resource management
- Build strong relationships with clients, developers, and project stakeholders
- Support business development through bids, client engagement, and market opportunities
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to team and process improvements
Qualifications
Education & Professional Accreditation
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Property, or a related discipline
- MRICS, AIQS or equivalent professional qualification (or working towards)
Experience & Skills
- 6–11 year's experience in cost management or quantity surveying
- Proven experience delivering consultancy services on real estate or property developments
- Experience leading cost management commissions on medium to large-scale commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects
- Strong understanding of the full real estate development lifecycle, from feasibility through to post-completion
- Solid knowledge of construction and commercial principles, including procurement routes, value management, and cost control
- Experience managing or mentoring teams within a project environment
- Strong client-facing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
