Pyramid Healthcare’s Recovery Support Services Division is seeking a Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) to support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders.

The CRS serves as a mentor, role model, advocate, and motivator, helping individuals prevent relapse and achieve long-term recovery. This role may support individuals receiving traditional CRS services as well as those engaged in Center of Excellence (COE) services for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD).

Using lived experience, recovery-oriented principles, and a strengths-based approach, the CRS empowers individuals to direct their own recovery journey.

Essential Responsibilities

• Support individuals in initiating and sustaining recovery through peer-based services
• Assist with connecting to community-based recovery supports and resources
• Provide continuity of care before, during, and after treatment episodes
• Facilitate regular one-on-one recovery sessions focused on goals, strengths, and wellness
• Promote self-advocacy, independence, and personal responsibility
• Collaborate with treatment teams, families, and community partners
• Participate in treatment team meetings and offer a recovery-focused perspective
• Encourage participation in sober social, recreational, educational, and vocational activities
• Support individuals in rebuilding healthy relationships
• Advocate for individuals while fostering skill-building and independence
• Connect individuals to:
  • Mutual-help groups
  • Social and volunteer opportunities
  • Employment resources
• Provide recovery education based on individual needs and recovery stage
• Serve as a positive role model when clinically appropriate
• Monitor recovery stability and assist with referrals as needed
• Help individuals overcome common early recovery barriers
• Assist in developing and updating individualized recovery plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of services and outcomes
• Attend required trainings, meetings, and continuing education
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) certification (required at time of hire)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a substance use or behavioral health setting
• 1 year of direct peer support experience preferred
• High School Diploma or GED required

Continuing Education Requirements

• Completion of 18 hours annually
• 30 hours over a two-year certification cycle
• Must meet PCB CRS recertification standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of substance use disorders and recovery systems of care
• Ability to engage individuals at various stages of recovery
• Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, ethics, and confidentiality
• Strong rapport-building skills using lived experience
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills
