Job Description

About the Role

The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates the growth of its Water Business in the UK, we are building a high-performing EICA Engineering team to help shape this next chapter.

We are inviting applicants who want to play a meaningful role in delivering major water and wastewater programmes. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to technically robust, sustainable and innovative treatment solutions across nationally significant projects.

This is a rare opportunity to join at a key stage of our UK growth journey, helping to establish, shape and expand an EICA engineering capability built on Egis’ global infrastructure expertise and long-term commitment to the sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to discipline design packages across feasibility, optioneering, concept, outline and detailed design for UK water/wastewater treatment projects.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, datasheets, schedules, technical notes, reports, drawings and model inputs under senior guidance.
• Support site visits, asset surveys, data reviews and discussions with operators, suppliers and technology providers.
• Work with Process, Mechanical, EICA and MEP interfaces to help develop integrated, practical and maintainable treatment solutions.
• Use digital tools, spreadsheets, models and data analysis methods to improve design quality and efficiency.
• Support CDM/safety-by-design activities and contribute to design risk identification.
• Assist with supplier/contractor reviews, technical queries, commissioning support and handover information where required.
• Work to agreed scope, budget and programme, escalating risks early and contributing to a collaborative technical team culture.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/MEng or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Typically 4+ years’ relevant engineering design experience, ideally including water, wastewater, utilities, process, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of the treatment design lifecycle and ability to prepare clear discipline-specific design deliverables.
• Working knowledge of relevant UK standards, CDM/safety-by-design principles and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to coordinate with other disciplines and contribute to integrated design solutions.
• Good digital capability, including Excel and relevant design/modelling tools, with interest in automation, simulation and data-led delivery.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to visit operational works and construction sites as required.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge

• Experience in municipal water, wastewater, sludge/bioresources, water reuse, nutrient removal, pumping, energy optimisation or low-carbon treatment.
• Exposure to AMP8, WINEP, SROs, D&B, framework or alliance delivery environments.
• Experience with BIM/3D coordination, process simulation, hydraulic modelling, Power BI, Python, VBA or advanced Excel.
• Progress towards IEng or CEng with a relevant professional institution.

Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
