Sysco GB (whose operating companies are made up of Brakes, Fresh Direct, Kent Frozen Foods, Medina Foodservice, Campbells Prime Meat & Fairfax Meadow) are recruiting a Colleague Experience & Belonging Partner to join the HR function.
Reporting to the Inclusion & Diversity Lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects and initiatives aligned to our HR and wider business strategies, with key responsibilities and deliverables centered on creating a culture of belonging and engagement, fulfilling commitments to colleague wellbeing and supporting the diversity, equity and inclusion agenda.
This is an exciting, brand-new role which will have tangible impact on our people and our business. It’s a home-based role, however, will require some travel across the GB network to visit our sites and attend meetings etc.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Wellbeing:
- Improve awareness and visibility of the Mental Health First Aider network across Sysco GB and ensure the MHFA’s are set up for success
- Support improvements in absence management capability, processes and practices
- Supporting listening groups and driving a listening culture, ensuring action plans are collated and acted on, and measuring results
- Take ownership of expanding the wellbeing agenda based on data and insights
Communications & Engagement:
- Take a lead role in communication of the annual self-ID campaign, where we ask colleagues to update their diversity data in Workday. This will include refreshing collateral with our external design agency, engaging the HR teams and other key stakeholders, and designing a campaign schedule with the Communications team, and reviewing completion rates
- Delivering activity aligned with annual employee engagement survey results and agreed action plans
Inclusive workspaces:
- Work on specific projects and in partnership with others to improve the inclusivity of our workspaces and diversity of our workforce. For example, designing changes to workspaces, and creating support mechanisms for colleagues returning from maternity leave
Training & Education:
- Support the Inclusion & Diversity Lead and work collaboratively with key stakeholders including business stakeholders, Talent & Development and Employee Relations to develop training & education content and initiatives. These will be for multiple topics and audiences, from frontline colleagues up to and including senior leaders. For example, developing content on Respect at Work or Leading Inclusively for Neurodiversity
- Reviewing current content, assessing suitability, delivering on changes to content required, and communicating changes and completion requirements – as well as starting work on some topics from scratch
Social Mobility and Community Impact:
- Collaboratively lead Purpose Month activity, during which colleagues across the network are encouraged to volunteer or otherwise support giving back within our local communities. Ensuring activities are agreed, planned and communicated to relevant deadlines and aligned with KPI’s
- Support school and community engagement with the business
- Investigate other programmes and partnerships to support social mobility and community impact
Data, Insights & Reporting:
- Inform set-up of new data sets and sources where needed
- Analyse multiple sources of workforce data to inform data-based decisions and proposals for change
- Create business update reports for relevant stakeholder groups and meetings
About you:
You will have significant experience in developing and delivering inclusion and wellbeing initiatives within a subject matter expert capacity, demonstrating measurable impact and providing expert guidance to the organisation.
You’ll have a proven track record of collaboratively designing and delivering learning interventions, for a range of stakeholders including senior leaders. Experience of driving value through both foundational improvements and transformational change initiatives is essential, as is the ability to develop inclusive policies in collaboration with multiple stakeholders, creating a consistent policy approach and tone that aligns with the organisation’s Employee Value Proposition. The successful candidate will also have experience of delivering employee engagement action plans and improving engagement outcomes. Confident in leading groups, influencing outcomes, and driving accountability for agreed actions. Experience within a large FMCG, Logistics or Manufacturing organisation with a diverse workforce and a significant frontline employee population, would be advantageous but is not essential.
You will have exceptional communication skills across a range of channels, including written, verbal and presentation-based communication, with experience or a genuine interest in using social media and digital platforms to engage colleagues and stakeholders. You will be highly effective at stakeholder management, with the ability to build credibility quickly and influence senior leaders as well as colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Comfortable operating in a highly visible role, you will develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships and act as a trusted partner and advocate for positive change. Passionate about creating an inclusive, high-performing culture and will take a future-focused approach, balancing long-term strategic thinking with the delivery of practical solutions that meet current business needs. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple complex priorities, work with agility and adapt to changing demands while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes. You will also understand the importance of genuine two-way communication, actively promoting colleague voice, encouraging meaningful engagement and ensuring feedback is translated into tangible actions and improvements.
