Mackie Development Program

Summary

This position is filled by experienced collegiate football officials who are being given development opportunities by the NFL. Select opportunities that are presented to the officials in the group are: an orientation, rules and video study, on-field officiating, being scouted and opportunities to interact with current NFL officials and Football Operations / Officiating staff.

• Minimum of 3 years of officiating football (including experience at Division I college).
• Have consistently met performance standards.
• Superior knowledge of the rules of the game of college football.

• Willingness to study, learn and apply the rules and mechanics of NFL football.
• Superior fitness, mobility and appearance in the officiating uniform.
• Undergo and produce favorable results in a panel interview and online assessment of competency, emotional intelligence and leadership.

• Present a physician’s statement attesting to ability to perform the functions of an on-field game official.
• Ability to run and keep up with game speed and physical demands required to officiate.
