Get to know the role
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (Analytics) to provide critical insights and drive our OmniCommerce product forward. You will work with different teams within Grab (Product, Engineering, Business, Operations, Marketing and others), pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box to lead break-through improvements. You will be an important part of the OmniCommerce Analytics team and a thought partner to our stakeholders and regional leadership. As we are gearing up for growth, you will work with regional and local team members to influence the strategic direction of the product.
You will lead data-first approach across product and business teams. You will partner with other teams to evaluate innovative ideas, uncover data-driven insights, and design and objectively analyze controlled experiments to guide strategic decision-making.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- Product Experimentation and A/B Testing:
- Collaborate with product managers to define hypotheses and design experiments aimed at improving the consumer experience.
- Run A/B testing frameworks, quasi-experiments and statistical methodologies to measure the impact of product changes on main metrics such as user engagement, retention, and conversion rates.
- Analyze experiment results to draw actionable insights and make data-driven recommendations for product iterations and enhancements.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of user behavior data to uncover actionable insights and opportunities for product improvements.
- Use advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in large datasets.
- Work with cross-functional teams to translate insights into actionable recommendations for product enhancements and optimizations.
- Work with product managers to understand user needs, pain points, and business objectives.
- Provide analytical support to product teams throughout the product development lifecycle, from ideation to implementation.
- Be the strategic partner to product managers, helping them make informed decisions and prioritize features based on data-driven insights.
- Design dashboards to track the performance of products and features, providing stakeholders with real-time visibility into key metrics and KPIs.
- Implement data visualization best practices to ensure that dashboards are intuitive, informative, and actionable for product organizations.
- Empower product managers and stakeholders to monitor the impact of product changes and make data-driven decisions to drive continuous improvement.
- Highlight trends, anomalies, and areas for optimization through visually compelling dashboards, enabling proactive decision-making and rapid response to emerging issues.
Qualifications
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 4+ years experience working in data-related and/or quantitative fields in B2C business, including OmniCommerce, ECommerce, Retail, Banking, Loyalty Programs and more
- Experienced in creating dashboards using PowerBI or Tableau for data visualization and data storytelling.
- Fluent with SQL, Python, R or other scripting/programming languages.
- Experienced with working with very large datasets and maintaining complex ETL.
- Strong statistical knowledge with hands-on experience running and analyzing controlled experiments.
- Familiarity in AI technologies adoption to optimize analytics processes.
