We are seeking highly motivated Graduate Engineers from premier institutes (IITs, NITs, IISc, BITS, etc.) to join our Physical Design team. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge ASIC/SoC design projects at advanced technology nodes while learning from experienced engineers and contributing to real-world chip tape-outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support RTL-to-GDSII implementation flow including synthesis, floor planning, placement, CTS, routing, and sign-off.
- Assist in Static Timing Analysis (STA) and timing closure across multi-mode, multi-corner (MMMC) scenarios.
- Work with senior engineers on timing optimization, congestion analysis, and power optimization.
- Develop and refine design constraints (SDC) for synthesis and STA.
- Perform basic physical verification checks (DRC, LVS) and assist in debugging issues.
- Collaborate with RTL, DFT, and Physical Design teams to ensure design quality and timelines.
- Contribute to automation and scripting using Python/TCL/Perl to improve design efficiency.
- Document learnings and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications
- B.Tech / M.Tech in: Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) / Electrical Engineering (EE/EEE) or related fields
- From Tier-1 institutes (IITs / NITs / equivalent premier universities)
Required Skills
- Strong fundamentals in:
- Digital Electronics
- CMOS/VLSI Design
- Timing Concepts (setup, hold, clocking basics)
- Basic understanding of:
- ASIC design flow
- Synthesis and/or STA concepts
- Exposure to EDA tools (academic or internship):
- Synopsys / Cadence tools (Design Compiler, Innovus, ICC2, PrimeTime, etc.)
- Programming/scripting knowledge in:
- Python / Tcl / C++
Preferred Skills
- Academic or internship experience in:
- Physical Design / STA / Synthesis
- Knowledge of:
- Low power design (clock gating basics)
- MMMC concepts
- Coursework or projects in:
- ASIC design / FPGA design / VLSI CAD tools
