Job Description
KNBC is seeking a visionary, forward-thinking Senior Executive Producer to lead the launch and ongoing success of Reel Time, a new digital-first entertainment news program. This role will be responsible for building a show and team from the ground up, defining its editorial voice, and shaping a modern content strategy that prioritizes real-time relevance, audience engagement, and multi-platform distribution.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Marketing and collaborating with the General Manager, Senior Executive Producer will serve as the senior creative and operational leader, responsible for setting the strategic direction, driving innovation, and delivering measurable audience growth across digital, social, streaming, and broadcast integrations. This leader will operate at a high-level strategic plane while ensuring the executional excellence expected of a premium NBCUniversal property.
The ideal candidate is an experienced media leader with a strong track record of launching or evolving content brands, deep knowledge of entertainment news, and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Own and define the overall creative vision, editorial strategy, and brand identity for Reel Time, ensuring it delivers timely, compelling entertainment news content optimized for digital-first consumption while maintaining opportunities for broadcast integration.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, including producers, talent, and multi-platform content creators, establishing a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration. Provide clear direction and oversight while empowering a Supervising Producer to manage day-to-day production execution.
- Develop and execute a content strategy that prioritizes speed, relevance, and audience engagement across platforms including social, streaming, and linear, with a strong emphasis on real-time storytelling and shareable content.
- Serve as the senior editorial authority, ensuring all content meets NBCUniversal standards for journalistic integrity, accuracy, and compliance, while maintaining a sharp, competitive focus on entertainment trends and audience interests.
- Partner closely with marketing, sales, digital, and station leadership to align content strategy with revenue opportunities, brand initiatives, and audience growth goals.
- Lead the launch and ongoing evolution of the show, including format innovation, talent strategy, and audience development, using data and performance insights to continuously refine and improve content.
- Collaborate across NBC Owned Television Stations and NBCUniversal platforms to maximize reach, leverage network resources, and participate in special projects, cross-market initiatives, and major entertainment events.
- Drive operational excellence by establishing scalable workflows, efficient production processes, and clear performance expectations for the team.
- Develop and manage staffing plans, organizational structure, and talent development, ensuring the right capabilities are in place to execute a digital-first strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in television, digital media, or multi-platform content production, including at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Executive Producer or above).
- Proven experience launching, transforming, or leading successful multi-platform or digital-first content brands.
- Strong editorial judgment with demonstrated expertise in entertainment news and pop culture coverage.
- Experience leading and developing large, cross-functional teams including producers, talent, editors, and digital content creators.
- Demonstrated success in driving audience growth and engagement across digital and social platforms.
- Deep understanding of evolving media consumption trends and digital storytelling strategies.
- Proficiency with modern production technologies, digital publishing platforms, and content distribution tools.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and early mornings/evenings as required by production needs.
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be willing to adhere to all NBCUniversal workplace policies.

- Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
- Salary range: $145,000 to $190,000 (Bonus and Long-term incentive eligible)
