Cloud Network Engineer

About the Role:
As a Cloud Network Engineer, you will support the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud-based network services across AWS or multi-cloud environments. You will work with senior engineers to gain hands-on experience in enterprise networking, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and network security as the Group accelerates its cloud transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of cloud networking components including Virtual Networks (VNets/VPCs), subnets, route tables, network security groups (NSGs), and peering connections.
- Support SD-WAN deployment and management across global sites including mills, plantations, offices, and distribution centres.
- Monitor network performance and availability using tools such as SolarWinds, Datadog, or AWS CloudWatch, and escalate incidents as required.
- Assist in configuring and managing VPN tunnels (site-to-site and point-to-site), ExpressRoute/Direct Connect circuits, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Support firewall rule management, access control lists (ACLs), and network segmentation in alignment with cybersecurity policies.
- Participate in network change management processes, documenting changes, and maintaining up-to-date network diagrams and asset inventories.
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for network-related incidents and service requests, adhering to ITIL-based incident management processes.
- Assist in disaster recovery testing and business continuity exercises related to network infrastructure.
- Stay current with cloud networking technologies, certifications, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cloud infrastructure engineers, security teams, and application teams to ensure reliable and secure network connectivity.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- 0–5 years of experience in networking or cloud engineering (internship or lab experience is acceptable).
- Foundational knowledge of networking protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Basic understanding of at least one hyperscale cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and its networking services.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, ping, traceroute, nslookup).
- Basic understanding of firewalls, VPNs, and network security principles.

Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent entry-level networking certification.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
- Exposure to SD-WAN technologies (Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, VMware VeloCloud).
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for network automation.
- Internship or project experience in a corporate or managed services networking environment.

Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

About the Role:
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will support the provisioning, management, and optimisation of cloud infrastructure services across Azure, AWS, or hybrid environments. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will help build and maintain scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud environments as the Group transitions from on-premise to cloud-first infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in provisioning and managing cloud resources (virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, containers) across Azure, AWS, or multi-cloud platforms.
- Support cloud migration activities including workload assessment, server migration, and post-migration validation.
- Monitor cloud infrastructure health, performance, and cost using tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Datadog, or Grafana.
- Assist in implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation, or Ansible for repeatable and consistent deployments.
- Support patching, backup, and disaster recovery operations for cloud-hosted workloads.
- Help manage identity and access controls for cloud resources in alignment with security policies (Azure AD / Entra ID, IAM policies).
- Participate in incident response and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure issues, providing Level 1 and Level 2 support.
- Maintain documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure integrated and secure cloud service delivery.

Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 0–5 years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering (internship or lab experience is acceptable).
- Foundational knowledge of at least one hyperscale cloud platform (Azure or AWS preferred) including compute, storage, and networking services.
- Basic understanding of operating systems: Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, or RHEL).
- Familiarity with virtualisation concepts (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerisation basics (Docker).
- Basic understanding of scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Terraform).
- Knowledge of ITIL fundamentals for incident, change, and problem management.

Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS SysOps Administrator certification.
- AWS Cloud Practitioner as a minimum.
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi).
- Basic knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
