Pest Control Technician | Palmerston North

You will be out in the field and the first line of defence in the fight against pests, solving customer problems with expert advice and proactive service. 

This role is Monday to Friday, covering all of the Palmerston North and surrounding areas, as well as in Napier and New Plymouth when needed, which may require occasional overnight stays or early/late shifts based on customer requirements. We provide a work vehicle to support your daily travel.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough site inspections to identify pest activity and determine treatment plans
• Apply pest control solutions and advise customers on prevention/management
• Identify hygiene/environmental risks to create safer, healthier spaces
• Accurately complete digital service reports post-visit
• Deliver outstanding, professional customer service
• Identify opportunities to recommend additional value-adding services

A successful candidate will have:

• Full-time, permanent work rights in NZ
• Full, clean driver’s licence and a clean criminal record
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Physically fit with a strong focus on health and safety 
• Comfortable and able to work outdoors in various environmental conditions
• Self-motivated with great time management
• High attention to detail and pride in high standards
• Confident using mobile apps and technology
• Flexible to travel and stay away overnight if needed
• Pest control regulations and methods experience is a bonus

Desirable, but not essential:

• New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations - Urban Pest Control
• Current NZ Firearm Licence
• Experience and licences for Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platforms
• Ability to operate a manual vehicle
