About the Job
The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, inventory control, material handling, production support, shipping, and warehouse organization. This hands-on leadership role works alongside Warehouse Associates to ensure materials are received accurately, inventory is maintained properly, production is supplied on time, and customer orders are shipped accurately and on schedule.
The Warehouse Supervisor is expected to lead by example while continually seeking opportunities to improve warehouse safety, organization, efficiency, inventory accuracy, and overall operational performance. This role partners with Procurement, Production, Planning, and Quality to support daily operations and deliver excellent internal and external customer service.
Job Duties
Supervise and assist with daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, material storage, production support, shipping, and warehouse organization.
Lead, train, coach, and support Warehouse Associates while promoting safety, accountability, teamwork, and quality.
Coordinate daily work assignments to support production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
Receive inbound materials, verify quantities against purchase orders and packing slips, and inspect shipments for visible damage.
Report receiving discrepancies and quality concerns to the appropriate departments.
Accurately process inventory transactions within the ERP system.
Store materials in designated warehouse locations while maintaining organization and inventory accuracy.
Pick, stage, and transfer materials for manufacturing work orders.
Pick, pack, and prepare customer shipments while ensuring shipping accuracy.
Schedule outbound freight and prepare required shipping documentation.
Process freight damage claims and shipping discrepancies with carriers.
Perform cycle counts of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods, investigate discrepancies, and assist with corrective actions.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient warehouse.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
Support annual physical inventories.
Identify, recommend, and implement practical improvements that enhance warehouse safety, organization, inventory accuracy, productivity, and workflow.
Challenge existing processes and recommend better ways of performing work while maintaining safety, quality, and customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
3+ years of warehouse, logistics, shipping, or inventory management experience
2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment
Experience with inventory management systems, ERP systems or warehouse technologies
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
Ability to frequently bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the warehouse environment
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
Ability to operate warehouse equipment and use computers for extended periods as needed
