The Quality Systems Manager will oversee and enhance the quality assurance and control processes within our railroad construction projects. This role will involve ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and finished projects meet the highest standards of quality, comply with relevant regulations and specifications all while adhering to contractual obligations.
### Responsibilities
  • Inspect project before, during, and after completion to ensure compliance with all quality specifications.
  • Develop and maintain quality control plan.
  • Conduct audits on projects to help ensure quality standards are met.
  • Evaluate and track any noncompliance and partner with the Project Manager to create an action plan.
  • Assist Project Managers with developing construction plans.
  • Ensure all paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Train employees on quality standards.
  • Responsible for verifying subcontractor and vendor conformance to project requirements on the project site.
  • Maintain a physical presence and regularly inspect work on site to ensure compliance.
  • Availability to work 7 days a week (base will be 40 hour work week)
    • Monday – Friday during the pre-construction phase.
    • Must be available for field work all weekend once construction begins.
### Skill Requirements
  • Good interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • OSHA knowledge
  • Knowledge of track or general construction, preferred
  • Computer knowledge: Familiar with Microsoft Suites
  • Understanding safety guidelines
  • Attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Analytical and strong problem-solving ability
  • The ability to communicate in a professional manner with owner’s representatives, coworkers and direct supervisors
  • Must be able to work well with others
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within the construction industry, with a strong preference for experience in railroad or infrastructure projects.
### Education Requirements
  • 4 year college degree in Business or Engineering
  • ### Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
    • Work in extreme all-weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow and sleet)
    • Able to walk on uneven surfaces over sometimes great distances
    • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand and sit for extended time
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
    • Must be willing to travel
