Role Summary

Dyson Farming is a family-owned business committed to commercially viable and environmentally sustainable food production at scale. As an AD Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the anaerobic digestion (AD) and CHP plant, helping to maximise efficiency, maintain plant performance, and support renewable energy production. The role requires a proactive approach to health and safety, strong technical aptitude, and a willingness to work flexibly, including participation in an out-of-hours call-out rota.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic AD Operative to join our Renewable Energy team.

Requirements

  • Support the day to day running of the CHP plant to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Proactive attitude and commitment to health and safety
  • Undertaking scheduled maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Sampling and loading of feedstock
  • Monitoring and responding to out of hours alarms on a rotational basis including on weekends and throughout the night
  • Additional weekend cover required if the opposite shift is on Leave or sick
  • Monitoring of plant control systems (SCADA) and responding to process issues and/or faults
  • Completing daily checks, logbooks and records to a high standard
  • Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues by adhering to company H&S policies and procedures
  • Other duties as required by your line manager

Person Specification

  • Practical and hands on, with mechanical/electrical experience
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and takes excellent care of tools and equipment, ensuring longevity and optimal performance
  • Ability to monitor, interpret, and act on performance data
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Professional manner and effective communication skills
  • Proactive and flexible team player who thrives in a dynamic, close-nit environment where adaptability and collaboration are key
  • Willing to take responsibility and ownership for tasks
  • Ability to work under own initiative but also as part of a multifunctional team
  • Holds a current UK driving licence
  • Able to work 4 days on and 4 days off shift pattern, including night time call outs
  • The successful candidate will be required to work weekends, bank holidays and attend call outs.
