Job Title: Enterprise Transformation Headcount Tracking & Benefits Realization Lead - Finance & People

WPP is embarking on a pivotal, multi-year enterprise-wide transformation program focused on modernizing and optimizing our Finance and People functions to unlock significant value. We are seeking an exceptional and detail-oriented Enterprise Transformation Headcount Tracking & Benefits Realisation Lead - Finance & People to lead workforce-related benefit tracking and provide a transparent view of headcount movements linked to the transformation.

This role will have accountability for operating the transformation headcount tracker and connecting workforce movements to benefits realization. Working in close partnership with the PMO, transformation workstream leads, and business stakeholders, this role ensures that exits, offshore hires, role transitions, vacancy closures, and other workforce actions are accurately captured, validated, and translated into measurable and reportable benefits. The successful candidate will emphasize clear ownership, measurable KPIs, robust reporting, and strong alignment between people data and strategic outcomes.

This role requires a leader with analytical discipline, excellent data stewardship, and the ability to connect detailed workforce changes to the broader transformation value story. They will establish confidence in workforce data, create a rigorous reporting rhythm, enforce benefit definitions and evidence standards, and surface risks or slippage early so corrective action can be taken.

Key Responsibilities:

Headcount Tracking, Workforce Data & Controls:

  • Own and operate the transformation headcount tracker, ensuring accurate, timely, and complete capture of workforce movements across in-scope functions, geographies, and workstreams.
  • Track and reconcile exits, offshore hires, redeployments, role eliminations, vacancy management, backfills, and other workforce actions against approved transformation plans and benefit assumptions.
  • Establish data standards, definitions, and controls for workforce-related measures so that reporting is consistent, auditable, and trusted across Finance, People, and program governance forums.

Benefits Realization & Value Tracking:

  • Translate workforce movements into quantified benefits realization, linking headcount actions to savings, timing, run-rate impacts, and in-year delivery against the approved business case.
  • Maintain the benefits register and supporting evidence for workforce-related initiatives, ensuring benefit definitions, baselines, owners, milestones, and realization criteria are clearly documented.
  • Differentiate committed, forecast, and realized benefits, and ensure that upward reporting reflects actual delivery confidence rather than nominal plan assumptions.

Reporting, Governance & Escalation:

  • Support the reporting cadence for workforce-related benefits, including dashboards, exception reports, and executive summaries showing performance against plan, variances, and emerging risks.
  • Provide regular reporting upward to program leadership and governance forums, clearly explaining what has been delivered, what is at risk, and what actions are required to protect value.
  • Escalate issues promptly where workforce actions are delayed, unsupported by evidence, inconsistent with approved assumptions, or at risk of failing to convert into financial benefits.

Partnership with People, Finance & Workstream Leads:

  • Partner closely with HR/People operations, workforce planning, People Finance, shared services, and workstream leads to validate headcount actions and ensure a joined-up view of workforce change.
  • Work with Finance and FP&A teams to align headcount reporting with financial forecasts, savings tracking, and accounting treatment where required.
  • Support initiative owners in understanding evidence requirements, benefit rules, and reporting expectations, reinforcing discipline and accountability across the program.

People Analytics, Insight & Continuous Improvement:

  • Use workforce and people data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in areas such as attrition, redeployment, hiring patterns, delivery bottlenecks, and timing slippage.
  • Improve the design of workforce metrics, tracker logic, and reporting outputs over time so leaders can make faster, better-informed decisions on transformation delivery.
  • Help shape the broader workforce value narrative by connecting detailed people movements to strategic workforce planning, cost optimization, and long-term operating model outcomes.

Skills & Experience:

Experience:

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in workforce reporting, people analytics, HR operations, transformation PMO, benefits tracking, finance partnering, or a similar analytical delivery role.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining headcount or workforce trackers in complex organizations, ideally in the context of transformation, restructuring, shared services, offshoring, or operating model change.
  • Experience linking people data to financial outcomes, business cases, or benefits realization, with clear evidence of disciplined tracking and executive reporting.
  • Proven ability to work across HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to reconcile different data sources and drive a single trusted view of workforce impacts.

Benefits Realization, Workforce Reporting & Analytical Acumen:

  • Strong understanding of benefits realization concepts, including baselines, benefit ownership, evidence requirements, KPIs, and sustainment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting workforce data, reconciling exceptions, and identifying the operational causes of benefit under-delivery or delay.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and multiple source systems, with a disciplined approach to data quality, controls, and reporting accuracy.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Excellent communicator able to present detailed workforce information in a clear, concise, and decision-oriented way to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing skills and the confidence to challenge inconsistent data, unsupported claims, or weak evidence while maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, able to work effectively across global, matrixed teams with different data owners, priorities, and levels of analytical maturity.

Execution & Drive:

  • High attention to detail, with strong follow-through and the ability to maintain control over tracker integrity, reporting deadlines, and governance actions.
  • Outcome-focused and resilient, able to operate in a fast-paced environment where plans evolve and evidence must be updated continually.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification preferred where relevant.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CIPD, PMP, or equivalent professional qualification/certification.
