What is Operations Support Engineer - Teknosys?

Teknosys is looking for a proactive and customer-focused Support Engineer to join our Application & Operations Support team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of business-critical systems and applications. You will troubleshoot incidents, resolve technical issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless service delivery.

This position requires participation in rotational shifts and on-call schedules to provide 24/7 production and application support coverage, ensuring high system uptime and adherence to SLAs.

What does Operations Support Engineer - Teknosys do?

Technical & Application Support

  • Provide L1/L2 technical support for enterprise systems and customer-facing applications.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application, hardware, and infrastructure-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure maximum system uptime and service reliability.

Incident & Problem Management

  • Monitor production environments and respond quickly to alerts and incidents.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
  • Escalate critical or complex issues to appropriate teams while ensuring end-to-end ownership.

System Monitoring & Operations

  • Utilize monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, or similar to track system health and performance.
  • Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and performance degradation.
  • Support deployments, releases, and operational maintenance activities.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with development, networking, and system administration teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance system stability, automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to automation and operational excellence initiatives.

Documentation

  • Maintain and update knowledge base articles, runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Document incidents, solutions, and lessons learned for future reference.

Shift & On-Call Coverage

  • Participate in rotational shifts, weekend coverage, and on-call support to ensure 24/7 operations.
  • Handle production incidents within defined SLAs.

Tools & Innovation (Preferred)

Familiarity with AI-powered code assistants, automated testing, and AI-driven DevSecOps tools is a plus

Requirements

What are we looking for and what does it require to be Operations Support Engineer - Teknosys?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience in application support, technical support, or system administration.
  • Experience supporting production environments and handling live incidents.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered code assistants, automated testing, and AI-driven DevSecOps tools is a plus
  • Operating Systems: Linux, Windows Server
  • Monitoring Tools: Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, or similar
  • Basic Networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls)
  • Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) – basic knowledge preferred
  • Understanding of incident management, SLAs, and ITIL practices
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents simultaneously
  • Team-oriented mindset with cross-functional collaboration
  • Proactive, ownership-driven attitude
  • Flexibility to work shifts and support 24/7 operations
