About the role
As Sustainability & Regenerative Agriculture Program Manager, you will lead LDC’s sustainability strategy and regenerative agriculture programs in Hungary. This role combines sustainability expertise, project management, stakeholder engagement, and commercial collaboration to drive meaningful environmental and business outcomes.
You will work closely with farmers, customers, financial partners, regulators, and internal stakeholders while leading local sustainability initiatives and ensuring compliance with sustainability certification schemes.
Key Responsibilities
Regenerative Agriculture Program Leadership
- Lead farmer engagement, onboarding, and contracting processes
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of regenerative agriculture programs
- Coordinate field implementation, monitoring, verification, and reporting activities
- Build strong relationships with farmers and external implementation partners
- Organize workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder events
- Act as the primary point of contact for enrolled farmers
Sustainability & Environmental Performance
- Oversee greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and environmental metrics
- Manage MRV (Monitoring, Reporting & Verification) providers and ensure data quality
- Analyze and interpret environmental performance data and carbon outcomes
- Support audits and ensure compliance with sustainability requirements
Commercial & Customer Engagement
- Develop regenerative agriculture value propositions for customers
- Collaborate with commercial teams to support sustainable sourcing initiatives
- Identify opportunities with financing partners and sustainability-focused programs
- Support customer-facing sustainability reporting and impact communication
Sustainability Certifications & Compliance
- Lead implementation and maintenance of sustainability certification systems (e.g., ISCC)
- Monitor EU and Hungarian sustainability regulations
- Support sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance activities
- Drive continuous improvement of sustainability management systems and processes
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and develop the local sustainability team
- Represent LDC at industry forums and sustainability initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across operations, logistics, finance, and commercial functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Fluent in Hungarian and English
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel across Hungary (approximately 50% of working time)
- 5+ years of experience in sustainability, agriculture, supply chain, or project management
- Knowledge of regenerative agriculture, sustainability programs, or agricultural value chains
- Experience managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Commercial mindset and ability to connect sustainability initiatives with business goals
Nice to Have
- Experience with sustainability certifications and reporting
- Knowledge of GHG accounting and environmental metrics
- Agronomy or agricultural background
- Professional Agronomist (PAg) and/or Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification
