Senior Data Engineer

At Enroute, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and APIs that support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows across multiple systems.

This role focuses on developing modern cloud-native data solutions using Python, Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake, integrating data from multiple internal and external systems through REST APIs, and delivering reliable, production-ready data platforms.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Python, Apache Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, advanced SQL, API-based integrations, and modern ETL/ELT architectures. Experience working within AdTech or digital media environments is highly preferred.

Requirements

✅ Must-Have Requirements

Data Engineering

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or related fields
• Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience developing production-ready data platforms supporting analytics, reporting, and operational workloads
• Strong understanding of modern data engineering best practices
• Experience optimizing data pipelines for scalability, reliability, and maintainability

Programming & Data Processing

• Advanced Python
• Advanced SQL (complex queries, optimization, window functions, CTEs)
• Strong experience processing structured and semi-structured datasets
• Experience building reusable and modular data processing components

Workflow Orchestration & Data Transformation

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Airflow
• Experience designing workflow orchestration pipelines
• Experience scheduling, monitoring, dependency management, and failure recovery
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool)
• Experience designing modular transformation layers and maintaining production dbt projects

Cloud Data Platforms

• Strong expertise with Snowflake (MUST HAVE)
• Experience designing and maintaining Snowflake data warehouse solutions
• Experience optimizing Snowflake performance, warehouse sizing, and query execution
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures

API & Data Integration

• Strong experience building and maintaining REST API integrations
• Experience integrating data from internal and external platforms
• Strong understanding of API authentication, pagination, rate limiting, and error handling
• Experience developing scalable ingestion pipelines using APIs

Collaboration

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Analytics, Engineering, and Business stakeholders

🎯 Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and operational workflows.
• Develop production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines using Python.
• Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow.
• Design, develop, and maintain data transformation models using dbt.
• Build and maintain API-based integrations with internal and external systems.
• Develop and optimize Snowflake data warehouse solutions to support analytical workloads.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, monitoring, and observability across all data pipelines.
• Optimize existing pipelines, transformations, and data models for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into production-ready data solutions.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, API integration issues, and data quality problems.
• Document technical solutions, pipeline architecture, and operational best practices.
• Support production environments and continuously improve platform reliability.

• Familiarity with event-driven or streaming architectures
• Experience with CI/CD workflows for data engineering deployments
