Job Description

As our Commercial Analyst your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Adhere to global commercial standards that will enable delivery in a safe and socially acceptable way and ensure that the organisation sources from responsible suppliers.
  • Actively undertake research, broad scanning, benchmarking and best practice analysis to produce better results.
  • Provide the necessary analytical support required for negotiations.
  • Execute activities for relevant commercial activities so that they are aligned with the overall strategic plan
  • May execute sourcing events such as low-risk/complexity T£ contracts.
  • Execute relevant project procurement activities in a timely and visible manner.
  • Provide relevant analytical planning support for business and corporate routine, tactical sourcing, contracting, and contractor management activities.
  • Support the team with relevant analytical procurement, end-to-end sourcing, contracting activities, and contracts management.
  • Execute timely and accurate sourcing and contracting and contractor management analytical activities.
  • Regular, timely and accurate reporting of all portfolio activities.
  • Drive a culture of community development and inclusive procurement.
  • Adhere to Inclusive Procurement expectations, targets and initiatives.
  • Provide analytical support to the global Inclusive Procurement programmes.
  • Support a culture of Sustainable Value through ESG, TCO initiatives, innovation, working capital and cost reduction.
  • Provide analytical support with implementing sustainable value creation strategies, initiatives and associated business cases that advance Anglo American's technical, community, sustainability, and financial ambitions.
  • Adopt new ways of working and systems usage within the team regarding suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Support the relevant business partner in tracking and updating supplier performance based on contractual KPIs.
  • Identify digitisation opportunities with suppliers to develop compelling business cases and collaborate with stakeholders and the SC Centre of Excellence for potential implementation.
  • Support the relevant Supply Chain Manager in analysing and updating supplier performance based on contractual KPIs.
  • Escalate contractual risks & operational issues.
  • Adopt new ways of working and systems usage within the team regarding suppliers and key stakeholders.
  • Compile monthly reports on spend against relevant contracts in the portfolio.
  • Provide analytical support to the Supply Chain Manager and Company Representative functions in implementing and operationalising active contracts.

This role is in Supply Chain (SC) department on a Band 7 (C5) level reporting to the Category Lead (Mining Commodities/Mining Services/Mining Equipment/Processing)

Qualifications

  • Grade 12
  • Higher National Qualification in Business Accounting/Finance/ or Economics on NQF5
  • A National Diploma in Business Accounting/Finance or Economics (NQF6)
  • SA Drivers Licence

Technical Knowledge

  • 3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Solid knowledge of contracts, administrative processes, and supporting systems (ERP, SAP, SAP Ariba, etc).
  • General administrative capabilities, including minutes, record keeping, and digital contract execution processes.
  • Contract amendments execution and digital implementation.
  • Monitoring and reporting performance management of contractual KPIs.
  • Vendor and Material Master data updates.
  • Sourcing and contracting activities for tactical and routine contracts.
