Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Section, Engineering/Maintenance to lead our preventive maintenance and engineering operations. This role is responsible for ensuring optimal machine performance, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement through robust maintenance strategies, automation, and team development.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, supervise, and develop the Preventive Maintenance (PM) team in executing daily maintenance activities.
- Train, coach, and enhance the technical competencies of maintenance technicians to build a high-performing team.
Maintenance Planning & Execution
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance activities for production machinery, equipment, and utilities.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks (PM, Machine Tolerance Check (MTC), and Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM)) are completed in accordance with established schedules and standards.
Breakdown Management & Continuous Improvement
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during machine breakdowns, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor machine performance, downtime, and maintenance costs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Expertise & Automation
- Manage and troubleshoot machine control systems, including Siemens PLC and other automation platforms.
- Leverage IoT technologies to enhance maintenance practices and predictive capabilities.
Maintenance Systems & Standards
- Develop, review, and continuously improve maintenance procedures, checklists, and standards.
- Ensure effective spare parts management, including inventory control and availability.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and external vendors to support maintenance activities and projects.
- Provide technical support for installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement of equipment.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, local legal requirements, GMP standards, 5S practices, and company policies.
Reporting & Performance Management
- Prepare and present maintenance reports, KPIs, and performance analysis for management review.
- Lead internal projects and improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (min. 3 years experience) or Diploma (min. 5 years experience) in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, or related field.
- 2–3 years in a supervisory/leadership role.
Technical Skills
- Strong troubleshooting in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in preventive maintenance & machine inspection.
- Familiar with PLC, HMI, and automation systems (Siemens preferred).
- Able to read technical drawings and manuals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP PM.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD / SolidWorks / EPLAN / Power BI is an advantage.
- Exposure to IoT, GMP, safety, and 5S is preferred.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently with good teamwork and communication.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required.
