Civil Engineer - Field Surveillance

Job Description

You will support construction surveillance activities across major civil engineering works onsite.

The role focuses on quality assurance, compliance monitoring and contractor performance oversight.

🏗️Conduct construction surveillance activities across civil engineering work packages
🔍Verify works comply with contract requirements, specifications and quality standards
📋Identify non-conformances and support preparation of quality reporting documentation
🤝Coordinate closely with contractors and multidisciplinary site delivery teams
📈Contribute surveillance data supporting project quality performance indicators
🛡️Promote compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements onsite
📑Review quality inspection records before works are permanently covered
⚙️Monitor contractor performance against approved quality control plans
🚧Support mitigation actions to maintain construction progress and quality standards
📢Provide timely reporting of surveillance findings and emerging project risks

Qualifications

🎓HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent vocational experience
🏗️Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and industry practices
📋Experience working within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
🔍Excellent attention to detail when inspecting works and materials
📝Proven ability to produce accurate, concise and contract-relevant site records
🤝Strong communication skills and ability to build contractor relationships
⚡Ability to work independently while contributing to high-performing teams
🛡️Understanding of quality assurance and construction compliance requirements
🚧Knowledge of CDM Regulations and drawing approval processes advantageous
📱Experience using electronic devices for onsite inspection and reporting activities
