The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and finalisation of technical projects, primarily focusing on core IT infrastructure, network architecture, and retail technology deployments. This role requires a broad technical background, exceptional project management skills, and a proven track record in contract negotiation and vendor management, specifically within a retail environment. The ideal candidate transforms business requirements into technical deliverables, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

In this role, you will serve as an integral member of the program team, ensuring alignment with the project management methodologies established by Endeavour. You will also foster strong working relationships with business stakeholders and core IT and business leadership teams.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Project Management: Lead, execute and assist project delivery across a diverse portfolio of technical projects, focusing on critical IT infrastructure and services. Using a unique blend of technical acumen, project management discipline, and strong skills in change management, quality assurance (testing), and business analysis. The project manager will be instrumental in modernising core systems, including operating system uplifts, hardware refreshes, and the implementation of core network components, cloud and telephony solutions, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum business value.

  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders. Maintain a broad and deep understanding of network topologies, data center operations, cloud infrastructure, and security best practices to effectively guide project teams.

  • Quality Management: Assist in the planning and oversight of testing activities, including system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensuring all project deliverables meet quality standards and organisational requirements before deployment.

  • Contract Management & Negotiation: Oversee all project-related vendor relationships. This includes drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts with external vendors and service providers to ensure favorable terms, adherence to scope, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Hospitality & Retail Technology Focus: Drive the successful deployment and integration of technology solutions across a multi-site hospitality & retail footprint, understanding the unique operational challenges and timelines of these businesses.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, and executive summaries. Proactively identify and manage risks, communicating potential impacts and mitigation strategies to all levels of the organization.

  • Business Analysis Support: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements. Translate business needs into technical specifications and project tasks to ensure technical solutions align with strategic objectives.Translate overarching business requirements into precise technical specifications and actionable project tasks.

  • Budget Management: Responsible for creating, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, tracking expenditure, and forecasting resource needs.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management, managing large-scale IT projects.

  • Demonstrable experience with core IT infrastructure and networks, including WAN/LAN, Wi-Fi, Telco services, virtualisation, cloud services (e.g.,Azure, GCP), EUC, Certificate management and data center technologies.

  • Proven expertise in contract management and negotiation, specifically with technology vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects concurrently.

  • Significant experience working within the retail or hospitality sector, managing projects that directly impact operations, customer experience, and/or supply chain technology.

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certification is highly desirable.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Managing Internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience and familiarity with the following platforms:

    • Google Suite

    • ServiceNow

    • Planview
