Draftsperson

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Draftsperson to join our team. The Draftsperson will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and 3D models for metal fabrication projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Drawings & Drafting
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
• Create fabrication drawings, assembly layouts, and part details for metal components.
• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, tolerances, and safety requirements.
• Review customer drawings and build a BOM for RFQs based on customer requests.
• Create submittal packages and stamped drawings.
• Manufacturing Support
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable drawings.
• Provide clear instructions for fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from shop floor and quality control teams.
• Quality & Compliance
• Verify dimensions, materials, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain documentation and drawing records for future reference.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, ASME, and other relevant standards.
• Collaboration
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and production supervisors.
• Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements for manufacturability and cost efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience as a Draftsperson in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
• Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar tools.
• Experience with metalworking processes, including cutting, bending, welding, and machining.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with sheet metal design and structural aluminum fabrication.
• Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems used in manufacturing.

Location: Valley Cottage, NY (On-Site)

Salary: The salary range for this position, based in Valley Cottage, NY, is $65,000-$70,000 per year, plus incentives. The final salary will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
