Responsible for leading a team of Compliance Specialists to ensure healthcare professionals (HCPs) are cleared quickly, accurately, and in alignment with client and regulatory requirements. This role balances team leadership with active involvement in day-to-day operations, with a primary focus on driving clearance rate, resolving escalations, and ensuring HCPs remain compliant throughout their assignments.

Major Position Responsibilities
- Directly manage a team of 10–15 Compliance Specialists, providing real-time coaching, prioritization guidance, and ongoing development
- Lead daily team operations to ensure maximum clearance rate and speed to start; actively monitor upcoming starts, priorities, and capacity
- Provide hands-on support for complex or high priority files and remove barriers preventing HCPs from starting or remaining compliant
- Serve as the primary escalation point for client issues, start risks, and complex compliance situations; resolve escalations quickly and partner cross-functionally to drive on-time starts
- Drive individual and team performance against key KPIs:
- Clearance rate
- Productivity and turnaround time
- Quality/compliance accuracy
- Ongoing compliance for active HCPs
- Identify performance gaps, set clear expectations around urgency and ownership, and take timely corrective action through coaching and feedback
- Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews, and development conversations to build team capability
- Actively prioritize and reallocate team workload based on start dates, urgency, and client needs
- Partner with Sales, Recruiting, and other departments to prioritize travelers, resolve issues, and communicate risks to starts or compliance barriers
- Develop and maintain team understanding of client-specific requirements, systems, and expectations to support compliance and performance outcomes
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce clearance time and enhance team efficiency across systems, workflows, and policies
- Ensure all HCPs meet requirements prior to start and maintain accurate, audit-ready compliance files, balancing compliance risk with operational urgency and escalating broader concerns as needed
- Manage team attendance, scheduling, and coverage to ensure consistent support of business needs
- Oversee relationships with external compliance vendors to ensure timely issue resolution, hold partners accountable, and alignment with business needs
- Foster a positive team culture through recognition, engagement, and support of team initiatives
- Partner with the Director of Compliance to ensure alignment and visibility into team performance, risks, and emerging trends
Required Skills, Abilities, & Education
- Strong operational leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive results
- Exceptional prioritization, time management, and sense of urgency to meet deadlines and support time-sensitive starts
- Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to resolve complex compliance issues and escalations quickly and effectively
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team, including real-time guidance, performance management, and accountability
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and handle sensitive or escalated situations with professionalism and tact
- Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure accuracy while maintaining speed and efficiency
- Ability to build strong relationships and effectively partner across departments to resolve issues and support business needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Healthcare staffing compliance experience required
Work Schedule
- This is a salary paid position, with shifts being an 8-hour workday for a 40-hour work week.
- In-office with flexibility to work from home with director’s approval.
- Additional hours worked as needed to complete the work for this position.
