Job Description
- Plans, directs, and supervises the activities of the OA Program, including ensuring proper planning, scheduling, and effective implementation of all activities in program areas. Supervises procurement and use of supplemental materials, including multimedia equipment.
- Prepares and reviews reports and records of activities to ensure progress is being accomplished and objectives attained.
- Sets monthly goals for admissions counselors and monitors goals. Enacts corrective action as needed to correct deficiencies.
- Ensures proper records on student progress are maintained by the OA department.
- Promotes OTP programs.
- Adheres to cohort enrollment, case management efforts and career transition services of all industry clusters.
- Coordinates and participates in open houses, Job Fairs, Career Days, etc.
- Monitors budget and related areas for assigned departments and maintains spending limits.
- Assesses personnel needs and works with the Human Resources department to screen and interview potential staff. Recommends promotions, transfers, and merit evaluations within the department. Conducts and prepares performance appraisals.
- Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
- Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
- Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field, and one year related supervisory experience.
- Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field, and three years related supervisory experience.
- Experience working with diverse youth.
- A valid driver’s license in Texas with an acceptable driving record.
