Job Description

We are looking for a confident and hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to join our Chesterfield operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a fast-paced, modern warehouse environment where you will lead a team across our Value Added Services (VAS) operation and help deliver excellent service for a range of key customers.

In this role, you will support the Shift Manager in leading, motivating and developing the team, while making sure productivity, quality, health and safety, and customer service standards are achieved every day. You will play a key part in keeping the operation running smoothly and ensuring all customer requirements are delivered to a high standard.

You will work across a multi-customer warehouse operation, supporting a variety of products and services in a busy and rewarding environment. There may also be involvement with BWS product handling, so flexibility and a proactive approach are important.

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00.

Salary: £26,734.50 per annum

What you'll be doing

  • Lead, organise and support a team of around 10 warehouse colleagues across the VAS operation, including labelling, out-of-case labelling and other customer-specific activities.
  • Drive shift performance to ensure productivity, service and operational KPI targets are consistently achieved.
  • Promote high standards of health, safety, hygiene and compliance, making sure all processes and records are completed accurately.
  • Carry out quality and compliance checks to ensure the operation meets customer and audit standards.
  • Deliver team briefings and clear communication so colleagues stay informed, engaged and focused on priorities.
  • Support the smooth running of goods in and warehouse operations so stock is received, handled and made available efficiently.
  • Coach, support and develop team members to maximise performance and encourage progression.
  • Support people processes, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

  • Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a fast-paced operation. Experience in VAS or e-commerce would be an advantage.
  • Previous team leader or supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to share information clearly and confidently.
  • Able to prioritise workloads effectively and meet deadlines in a busy operational environment.
  • A proven ability to motivate teams and help deliver or exceed targets and KPIs.
  • Confident using IT systems and standard computer applications.
  • Professional, approachable and supportive in the way you work with others.
