FAENA The Red Sea is seeking passionate and motivated Saudi Nationals to join our Culinary team as Commis Chefs. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary career within one of the world's most anticipated luxury lifestyle destinations.
As a Commis Chef, you will support the preparation and presentation of exceptional food experiences across our restaurants, lounges, banquets, and culinary venues. Working alongside experienced chefs, you will develop your technical skills, gain exposure to world-class culinary standards, and contribute to delivering memorable guest experiences while embracing FAENA's culture of creativity, craftsmanship, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Support daily mise en place preparation to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
- Follow instructions from senior chefs and support the team during service periods.
- Prepare ingredients including vegetables, meats, seafood, sauces, and garnishes as required.
- Assist with banquet functions, special events, and seasonal culinary activations.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean, organised, and fully stocked.
- Adhere to HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures.
- Support inventory control through proper handling and minimising food waste.
- Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, and product shortages promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and care of kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across all kitchen sections and outlets.
- Participate in training programs, culinary workshops, and development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive team culture while delivering exceptional standards of quality and service.
Qualifications
- Previous culinary experience, internship, vocational training, or hospitality exposure is advantageous but not essential.
- Culinary qualification, hospitality diploma, or currently pursuing culinary studies is preferred.
- Basic understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Passion for food, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain organised under pressure.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
