Job Description
We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Resident Engineer - Structural to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will support the structural engineering team on various construction and development projects, ensuring compliance with design specifications, building codes, and quality standards. You will work closely with senior engineers and site personnel to deliver high-quality structural solutions while maintaining organized project documentation and efficient communication across all stakeholders.
- Assist in the design, analysis, and optimization of structural systems using industry-standard software and engineering principles
- Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed technical reports documenting structural conditions, progress, and compliance with design drawings
- Support the development and review of structural drawings, specifications, and construction documents using CAD and BIM software
- Analyze structural data and perform calculations to verify design integrity and safety requirements
- Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve structural challenges efficiently and effectively
- Ensure adherence to UAE building codes, international standards, and project-specific requirements
- Maintain organized project files, documentation, and records for quality assurance and regulatory compliance
- Assist in quality control inspections and material testing coordination on construction sites
- Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to senior engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Support the preparation of progress reports and technical documentation for project deliverables
Qualifications
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, or Revit)
- Strong knowledge of structural engineering principles and building design practices
- Familiarity with UAE and international building codes and standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in technical report writing and documentation
- Solid understanding of structural materials including concrete, steel, and composite systems
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of construction management and site procedures
- Preferred: Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and project coordination
- Preferred: Previous site supervision or quality assurance experience in structural projects
- Preferred: Experience working on construction projects in the Middle East region
