Opportunity Overview
Northramp is looking for a skilled, personable, and motivated ServiceNow Developer to join our team. In this role, you will apply deep expertise in the ServiceNow platform to deliver high-quality solutions for our federal clients — building and maintaining applications, developing integrations, and supporting day-to-day operations. As a senior consultant at Northramp, you will also mentor junior staff and help grow our delivery capabilities.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is currently remote; however, candidates located in or near Rockville, MD (Metro-accessible) or the greater Washington, DC metro area are preferred.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a self-starter who thrives in a client-facing environment. You combine strong technical depth with excellent communication skills — equally comfortable discussing complex solutions with engineers and translating them for non-technical stakeholders. You bring intellectual curiosity and sharp problem-solving instincts to everything you do, and you take ownership of your work from design through delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform day-to-day support and maintenance of the ServiceNow platform; coordinate development and support efforts within the admin team.
• Work closely with the ServiceNow functional team to build requested items and tasks using workflows that manage processes from customer intake to fulfillment.
• Configure and improve core and custom applications in close collaboration with the functional team.
• Work directly with end users to resolve support issues within ServiceNow.
• Monitor health, usage, and overall compliance of ServiceNow and its applications.
• Develop systems integrations and process automation.
• Create and configure Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, and ACLs, including advanced scripting.
• Create and configure Notifications, UI Pages, UI Macros, Script Includes, Formatters, and related components.
• Configure and manage Discovery.
• Lead the team through application and platform upgrades.
• Load, manipulate, and maintain data between ServiceNow and other systems.
• Create ServiceNow reports and dashboards.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Ability to pass a federal background check and maintain eligibility for continued access authorizations, including periodic drug screenings.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of ServiceNow development experience.
• Strong JavaScript, XML, and HTML skills; familiarity with LDAP, MS Active Directory, and ADFS.
• Proven experience implementing and customizing a web-architected, n-tiered enterprise application.
• Proven experience implementing integrations of enterprise software systems.
• Experience creating ServiceNow update sets, promoting and testing them through multiple instances and into production.
• Ability to design and build applications that meet business goals and objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical information clearly to varied audiences.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience working in the government sector (local, state, or federal).
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator or Developer certification.
• Experience configuring ServiceNow Discovery.
• Strong knowledge of ITSM processes.
• ITIL v4 Foundation Certification.
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Northramp helps mission-driven organizations build, modernize, and run the systems they depend on — federal programs, critical infrastructure, and the technology behind real services. What makes us different is on the org chart: our advisors and our engineers sit on the same team. Recommendations don't get handed off to someone else to build — they get built by the people who made them. That means less translation, fewer surprises, and work that actually ships. We hire for substance over polish: people who ask sharper questions than expected, do the work, and care about getting it right. Our clients come back to us because we stay close to the work, not the slide deck. Where technology meets purpose.
