Job Description
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering team. Our infrastructure empowers every developer, operator and employee by making it effortless to access, build and operate workloads they need to do their jobs and enhance productivity. In this role, you will be leading a team of engineers to develop and manage products, services that help manage and scale our enterprise infrastructure.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and optimize large-scale distributed systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability
Lead architectural decisions, including trade-offs across synchronous and asynchronous design patterns
Develop platforms, services, and tools that abstract underlying complexity and enable developer productivity
Write high-quality, maintainable code and ensure software quality through testing, code reviews, and continuous integration practices
Participate in and drive design and code reviews to uphold engineering standards and best practices
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues across services and multiple layers of the technology stack
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., AI, data infrastructure, product) to build scalable and reliable platforms
Mentor and guide engineers to improve technical execution, system design, and engineering craftsmanship
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
6+ years of experience in software design, development, and distributed systems
5+ years of programming experience in object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar
3+ years of hands-on experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or infrastructure platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
8+ years of experience building and working with large-scale, production-grade distributed systems
Designed and implemented scalable infrastructure systems or platforms used by multiple teams
Built and optimized high-availability services, improving performance, scalability, and reliability
Led architectural decisions involving distributed systems, including trade-offs between synchronous and asynchronous design patterns
Developed and maintained systems using streaming technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or similar platforms
Applied strong software design fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design in production systems
Debugged and resolved complex production issues across services and multiple layers of the technology stack
Collaborated with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable platform solutions
Mentored and guided engineers to improve technical execution and system design capabilities
