Position: Senior Credit Analyst
Salary: AU$ 3,100 - AU $ 4,200/month
Working Hours & Conditions: Mondays to Fridays; 9:00 AM- 6:00 PM AEST
About the Role:
The Senior Credit Analyst supports mortgage brokers by managing the end-to-end loan processing cycle, from file setup and credit pre-assessment through to submission, progression, and settlement. The role requires strong attention to detail, confident lender liaison, and the ability to keep multiple files moving simultaneously within a fast-paced broking environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaise internally with Directors, Mortgage Brokers, and Broker Support Team; and externally with Clients, Lenders, Solicitors, Conveyancers, and Referral Partners.
CRM & File Management
- Manage and maintain Mercury CRM — keep pipelines accurate, notes up to date, tasks tracked, and files progressing through correct workflow stages.
- Set up new files, perform accurate data entry across CRM and lender platforms, and ensure all client data is filed and named to company standards.
Loan Processing, Packaging & Submission
- Conduct initial credit pre-assessments and prepare credit proposals in line with company processes.
- Package and prepare mortgage applications for submission — check, rename, and organise supporting documents; identify and resolve missing or incorrect items early.
- Prepare and submit AOL application packs; assist with pricing requests and order valuations.
- Ensure all applications meet regulatory, lender, and internal compliance standards prior to submission.
Settlement & Progression
- Follow up with lenders, solicitors, and conveyancers to keep files on track toward settlement.
- Monitor lender conditions, outstanding items, and deadlines; proactively escalate issues to the broker.
- Provide regular internal updates to maintain visibility across the team.
Client Communication & Relationship Management
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients from pre-assessment to settlement — guide document collection, respond to inquiries, and provide timely updates.
- Explain mortgage terms, interest rates, and repayment structures clearly and accurately.
- Conduct post-settlement annual interest rate reviews to support client retention and identify future opportunities.
Compliance, Professional Development & Team Collaboration
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lender policies, products, and industry regulations; attend training as required.
- Work closely with brokers to ensure smooth handovers; raise concerns promptly and contribute feedback on process improvements.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- 4–5 years of experience in credit analysis within the AU Mortgage Broking Industry
- Strong understanding of mortgage, asset finance, personal loan, and commercial loan products and application processes
- Proven experience in end-to-end loan processing, packaging, and lender liaison
- Proficiency in CRM systems and lender submission platforms
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and demonstrated problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple files simultaneously
