Job Description
As the Income Tax Accountant, you will serve as a key contributor to our North American tax operations. This role is designed for a professional who has mastered the fundamentals of corporate tax compliance and is ready to take ownership of complex projects, including tax technology initiatives and multi-state consolidated filings. You will act as a bridge between tax compliance and broader financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the preparation of Federal/State consolidated and separate tax returns.
- Responsible for estimated Federal/State tax payments
- Income tax accounting: assist with annual Federal/State tax provision, maintenance of deferred tax accounts, and related financial statement disclosures
- Assist with special M-1 adjustments including: UNICAP, LIFO and Fixed Assets.
- Tax forecasting
- Assist with tax technology implementations
- Assist with IRS audits
- Provide support and assistance to the tax managers in all aspects of the compliance function to include technical research and analysis
- Ability to interact professionally with business units and other staff members.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in corporate income tax compliance or public accounting.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and IFRS accounting principles.
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling) and experience with corporate tax software (e.g., Corptax, OneSource).
- Demonstrated experience with Federal and Multi-state tax filings for large, complex legal entities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license or active candidacy.
- Master’s Degree in Taxation (MST).
- Prior experience working within a large, multinational manufacturing or technology organization.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP or similar large-scale ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and communicate findings to non-tax stakeholders.
