ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will manage key accounting functions including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial tracking across multiple platforms and systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, experience working across integrated financial environments, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Experience with accounting systems such as MIP, QuickBooks Online, or Sage, along with Salesforce, Excel, and related integrations, is strongly preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reconcile deposits from banks, Stripe, and other payment platforms against Salesforce and internal records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and transparency.
Perform monthly cash receipts reconciliations and maintain accurate recording of financial transactions across all accounts.
Monitor and track invoices and spending related to Day of Service (DOS) activities, ensuring expenses align with approved project budgets and supporting documentation.
Prepare and record journal entries, payments, and receipts in QuickBooks Online and MIP, ensuring consistency and alignment between systems.
Partner with Program and Development teams to support accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of restricted and project-based funds.
Review, track, and reconcile American Express (AMEX) expenditures, including follow-up on outstanding items and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Support the Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice review, coding, approval workflows, and timely payment processing through Bill.com in accordance with organizational policies and internal controls.
Assist with month-end close activities, financial reporting, and audit preparation as needed.
Contribute to ongoing process improvements and support the development and documentation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or nonprofit accounting certification a plus
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a non-profit
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel ( pivot tables, formulas, and reconciliation tools).
Familiarity with MIP, Quickbooks, Salesforce, Stripe, and donor management systems is highly desirable
Strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Commitment to the mission and values of the organization
COMP + BENEFITS:
The salary for this role is $80,000 to $90,000. Hybrid schedule: In office Mon/Tue/Thu; remote Wed/Fri
11 paid holidays + 3 floating holidays
