Analytical Scientist

Job Description

• Perform analytical assays on various vaccine process intermediates, products and related experimental samples utilizing one or more of the following techniques:
  • Separation-based methodologies (HPLC, UPLC, CE, SDS-PAGE)
  • Plate based characterization (ELISA, enzymatic activity)
  • Absorbance (UV-vis) and fluorescence protein quantification
• Preparation of buffers and testing reagents
• Adhere to good laboratory documentation practices in notebooks and corresponding data review

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or other related degree concentration with a minimum of 1 -2 years relevant experience.
• Experience with separation-based chromatography (HPLC, UPLC) and absorbance-based protein assays like Lowry and Ellmans assay.
• Experience with absorbance and fluorescence-based protein assays like qPCR and Simple Western methodologies. 
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

The ideal candidate would possess:

• General working knowledge and practices associated with experimental preparation, execution, analysis, and safety.
• General laboratory skills including experience with pipettes, general analytical equipment, and other general laboratory instrumentation.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to learn new techniques and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while keeping accurate records, following standardized procedures, and comply with company policies (GMP knowledge a plus).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, generally 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., but may vary to meet the assay needs; overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of West Point, PA are encouraged to apply.
